WHAT IF

Summer Soundtrack Poster with Laurels.png

about

A TENDER, summer-on-repeat film,

 that reimagines how

we define a soulmate,

set on the day of a wedding.

Inspired by real memories, Summer Soundtrack explores love not as a fixed and linear destination, but as something lived, remembered, and redefined through time. Through music, memory, and the ache of almosts, Kyra’s journey expands the question: what if love isn’t just who we end up with—

but how we become who we are?

director's Statement

Born of loud memories and refined through intimate conversations, Summer Soundtrack is a meditation of my ever-expanding definition of love—for self, for others, and for the versions of us that live only in memory.

We often center romantic narratives around the idea of “the one,” but that framing can feel limiting—especially in a world where relationships are fluid, non-linear, and deeply varied in form. This film invites us to explore love not as a destination, but as a spectrum: tender, temporal, unresolved, and sacred. The short format is ideal for holding these kinds of questions—Summer Soundtrack doesn’t claim to define love, but to gently ask how we might begin to see it differently.

In our current cultural moment—post-pandemic, digitally connected yet emotionally fragmented—this story speaks to the ache of remembering and the courage of reimagining. Through the blurry edges of nostalgia, music, and memory, Summer Soundtrack reminds us that love is not always something to keep—it is often something to feel, witness, and let move through us.

Ultimately, this film points to something even more expansive: that love—romantic or otherwise—is a gateway to the deeper truth of our shared humanity. In its most honest form, love dissolves boundaries and invites us into the remembrance of oneness. Summer Soundtrack holds space for that remembrance.

This film was brought to life by a first-time filmmaker with a heart for stories that connect, soften, and awaken.
